IT Training

Pusat Latihan Teknologi Maklumat Sarawak (SAINS) was established in 1993, in response to the increasing demands for IT training in Malaysia. The Centre is a certified training provider approved by the Ministry of Education as well as Pembangunan Sumber Manusia Berhad (PSMB). Corporates choosing to send their employees to this Centre can use the Human Resource Development Fund (HRDF) to pay for employee training.

In 2013, the Centre won the Human Resources Development Award in the Training Provider Category, one of the most prestigious awards for human resource development in Malaysia.

SAINS has developed more than 100 computer courses including courses for in-house applications and technical courses to cater the needs of the state. In addition to these in-house developed training courses, the Centre is also an Authorised Test Centre for PearsonVUE, one of the world’s leading testing providers, and an authorised training and certification centre for Autodesk, one of the world's top technical drawing software companies. The Centre also provides IT training and certification exams for Microsoft, CISCO, CompTIA, IBM, Adobe, etc.

The Training Centre is located at SAINS’ new Offices in Samarahan. The Centre’s spacious training rooms, which are fully air-conditioned and equipped with the latest PCs as well as LCD multimedia projectors, can comfortably accommodate 100 participants. In addition to its computer labs, the Centre also boasts a surau and a refreshment area for meals.

In addition to the main training centre in Samarahan, SAINS' other training centers are located in Miri, Sibu, Bintulu and Kuala Lumpur.
